Introducing the IBM/Sony/Toshiba Cell Processor: the SIMD processing units & the SIMD processing units

@ Ars Technica lots of details from this weeks International Solid State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) and followup on Further Details of Cell processor and other things MultiCore.

Also Dana Blankenhorn has a take on this in More On Cells in that with the Cell, Moore's Law now applies to chip design.
