TIFF aka Toronto International Film Festival means lots of films in Toronto this september.
Here are four films we saw :
- FAT
Director / Writer Mark Phinney and a wonderful performance by Mel Rodriguez bring to life a powerful and unflinching story.Really honest and unflinching. Wow.
- Sunshine on Leith
Dexter Fletcher directs Peter Mullan and Jane Horrocks in this daptation the stage musical, inspired Scottish band The Proclaimers.Awesome fun with great song and actors set in glorious sunny Edinburgh.
- The Husband
Hard Core Logo Director Bruce McDonald presents black comedy, set in Toronto, co-writen and acted by Maxwell McCabe-Lokos.Outstanding work by Maxwell and a nice (surprising) ending.
- Dom Hemingway
Jude Law is a foul-mouthed ex-con safecracker in this blackly comic crime caper co-starring Richard E. Grant and Demian Bichir.Raunchy good fun!
- Under the Skin
Director Jonathan Glazer brings us a sci-fi thriller with Scarlett Johansson. based on the novel by Michel Faber.Very opaque.
